One Planet. One Life.
We are committed to doing all we can to support sustainability at Fretec. Technology should be designed to help us without leaving a massive footprint behind.
Up in the cloud
You need secure, flexible and easy to maintain systems – we use cloud-based technology to deliver this. Working in the cloud reduces the need for physical infrastructure and storage.
Here for You – Remotely
Every member of our team works 100% remotely. This helps us to reduce transport as well as office resources.
Paperless
All of our systems are online with no need for any paper. This policy cuts down on resources used in the manufacture of paper, such as forests, as well as waste.
Sustainable Cloud Infrastructure
Fretec builds and runs systems on modern cloud platforms that have sustainability built in at scale. Our cloud providers are making long-term investments in renewable energy, energy-efficient data centres and lower-carbon infrastructure. This means the platforms our clients rely on are becoming cleaner and more efficient over time without compromising performance or reliability.
Cloud infrastructure is inherently more resource-efficient than traditional on-premise setups. By sharing optimised, high-utilisation infrastructure across many organisations, cloud providers significantly reduce energy waste. Features like auto-scaling and usage-based consumption mean systems only use the resources they need, when they need them — helping to avoid over-provisioning and unnecessary energy use.
Continuous Improvement
Sustainability is a work in progress and we are committed to improving how we work to reduce our carbon footprint as we grow.
Designing for efficiency
Beyond the choice of cloud provider, sustainability is influenced by how systems are designed and operated. Fretec focuses on efficient architectures, well-managed workloads and right-sized infrastructure. This approach not only improves performance and reduces costs but also minimises environmental impact by avoiding wasted compute, storage and network capacity.
